Keep Moving Forward
I can admit it. Sometimes I get stuck. Usually when that happens, I feel overwhelmed. Even though I consider myself to be a pretty productive person, every once in a while, I’ve felt the paralysis of having too much to do and not enough time, energy, or resources to take care of it all.
One key idea that I have to remind myself is to not stay stuck. It’s okay to get in a rut (it happens to everybody), but it’s not okay to stay there. The longer I’m there, the longer I’m not productive, and the less free time I have.
No matter what, it’s important for me to push myself forward.
Moving forward simply means to make progress. It doesn’t have to be a lot. Little progress is better than no progress. Even though sometimes I may not finish writing an article, getting some words written down is better than none.
Moving forward requires you to not dwell on the past, and focus on the future.
Making progress or moving forward looks different for everyone. It depends on your personality, past experiences, and urgent situation. It could look like getting up and taking action on something you’ve been putting off or reaching out for help. You may have been procrastinating on looking for a better job. You may have even been too proud to reach out to a friend who could help you. Your next step could be one action away.
Whatever your context is, you need to aim to always move forward towards your goals and dreams.
