Why Effort is More Important Than Talent
You may consider yourself a talented person, and that’s wonderful. Talent is a good thing. Everyone has various talents at all different levels. It's good to be good at something, whether it's natural talent or by developing your skills through practice. The thing is, natural talent only gets you so far; it may give you a little bit of a head start, but it's not enough. If you're going to make it in the long run, it's all about your effort.
Effort means that you put in the work. You need to put in the time and practice to sharpen your skills, which will be helpful in moving you closer to your goals. You won’t develop your skills just by sitting there idly.
Effort means that you're taking action, which is what life rewards. Putting in the effort will get you results, and putting in the right type of effort (doing the right things or making the right choices) will increase your chances of receiving positive results.
So, if you think that you aren't naturally talented, the good news is, it doesn't matter much, but you have to put in the effort to be successful. Talent is important, but effort is more important.
