Why Today Can Be a Beautiful Day
When my oldest son was about two years old, he used to ask my spouse and I every day, "Is the sun out?" If we said yes, he'd say, "It's a beautiful day." It was one of his cute quirks as a young child, but it's something that sticks with me until this day.
To him, anything (bad or good) could've happened, but as long as the sun was out, it was a beautiful day. His daily question was a good daily reminder that it was a beautiful day.
Obviously, not every day is going to be a sunny day (literally), but if you really think about it, the sun is always shining somewhere. There are times that it's going to be cloudy, rainy. There may be even times where you're inside all day and can't see whether or not the sun is out. Whether the sun shines or not, every day has the possibility of beautiful day. To my son, the sun being out was reason enough. For me, if I made it through the day alive and in one piece, I consider it a good day; everything else is extra.
There are many ways to have a beautiful day. You can have a simple win such as having a nice conversation with a friend. You may have received good news in some form or fashion. Good news is good, no matter how small or big it is. Some people consider making their bed in their morning their first win to start off your day. Think of what you require for yourself to have a beautiful day. The simpler it is, the more achievable that is. Right now, even with the pandemic, we can still have beautiful days.
