Have I Lived a Good Life?

Have I Lived a Good Life?

One question that I have thought about you many times over and over is “Have I lived a good life?“ It’s something I think about every day, and now even more so during this pandemic. I try to think of my past and the time I spent with it. I think about my childhood, my teenage years, and my adulthood. I think about my family life, my relationship with my spouse, and my relationships with all my friends and family.

Have I lived a good life? I’m not exactly sure, but I would like to think that I have. There are definitely a lot of choices I have regretted, but I remind myself that everybody has them. Everybody makes mistakes, but the key is learning from those mistakes. Some people learn more from their mistakes than others and that’s what I believe is the key that makes a big difference in life.

Another thing that I think about a lot is whether or not I am satisfied with the life I have lived so far. Am I satisfied with my current life’s story? Have I squandered my time here on this Earth? Looking back, I can honestly say that I am satisfied with the time that I have been given so far. If my life ended today, which I hope it doesn't, I think I would die a happy man.

I expect to live a long life, and I would like it to be as long as possible. I choose to bravely face each day with optimism and hope, knowing that I try to make each day matter. So, I think I have loved a good life, and I intend to make the rest of it even better.
