Something to be Thankful for: Family
Family is definitely something to be thankful for, especially in the year 2020. It's been a year of extraordinary struggle. For me, family is what has been keeping me grounded. They give me purpose, not just now, but all the time. Every day, one way or another, they remind me that I'm needed.
My kids remind me of the innocence of life. They push me to be a better human being each day. My spouse is my foundational rock, and together, we are life partners in raising our family, but also experiencing all that life has to give us, especially its trials and challenging moments.
I am also very fortunate that I have many relatives. I have so many extended family that I can't even count them all. They span all across the world, and even though we are physically distant, they are still close to my heart.
I know not everyone is as lucky. Some people aren't close (physically or emotionally) to their family members, have toxic relatives, have members who have passed away, or a mix of the former. Knowing this makes me appreciate the people in my life.
I am extra lucky. I have friends, I have family, and I have friends who are family. We may not be related by blood, but we are just as close. We love and support each other, and it's as simple as that. I am very thankful for them.
With so much going on, I have so much to be thankful for. Family is something that I am grateful for.
